WHY TAKE THE SCENE STUDY CLASS?

Scene study is the bread and butter of acting technique. This is where you get to put your unique talent and essence to work and focus on honing your acting skills. The critiques by the teacher are personal and specifically given to help you learn to just "be yourself" on stage or on camera. Scene study class is where you will learn to push yourself and become a master of acting fearlessly.

Great acting... is not acting. The purpose of scene study is to train you to trust yourself, to know that you are enough as you are and that there is no need to try and be something you're not. When you bring your unique skills and chemistry to your work the audience will stay captivated and follow you intently as you tell your story. Gregory Peck once said that when he acted his best he used to feel guilty because it didn't feel like he was doing anything at all. When he just let himself be himself the Oscars soon followed. The quickest way to get to that place in your acting is to practice being yourself on stage and on camera with the guidance of a good teacher. Our On-Camera Scene Study class is just the place!

Class size is limited so every actor gets personal attention.

Scene study class is intended for students who have had experience in acting. The class opens with a brief lecture and/or discussion followed by a short technique exercise designed to stretch you and open you up. This exercise will be based on Mark Atteberry's renown technique, "The Three Steps Of Acting." The majority of the class is then devoted to scene work performed off and on-camera. Each scene will be watched in class and critiqued by the teacher.

This class is for professional actors only and is conducted in a professional manner. It is a direct extension of our 6-Week Type, Image and Talent Intensive. Actors are expected to commit to their scene partner and will be responsible for rehearsing and putting work up regularly!
